53 2 Ton
Preservation Paint
Decided we needed to throw a coat of "preservation
paint" on the 2 Ton as some of the rusty spots were not looking
too good and I won't be taking the time to do any of the body work
it really needs done anytime soon. When we started the plan was to
just scuff up the existing paint, do some body work that had to be
done, and shoot it. Once we got started the old paint (could have
been house paint brushed on) started coming off in big chunks, and
soon we were taking several sections down to bare metal. Total cost
ended up coming out to just over $100 and 2 days of work. About $80
in primer and thinner and $22 for Valspar Massey-Ferguson red paint
from tractor suppy. Also while stripping the paint off the doors we
found lettering from a previous owner.
